Good signsJosh Chafetz links to this New York Times story on Afghans mourning the anniversary of the assassination of Ahmed Shah Massood, the Northern Alliance leader who was killed two days before 9-11, and referred to two banners at the tribute that read "Osama, you martyred our hero!" and "Death to Osama!" This is good news, not only because it is a sign the we are winning the "hearts and minds" battle, but also because it shows that they are not sufficiently worried about the Taliban and al-Qaida making a comeback in Afghanistan to hide their true feelings. |
